About the APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance)
Your yacht operates like a private floating villa, and the APA functions as your onboard expense account. It covers all variable costs that depend on your preferences and consumption, such as:
- Food & Beverages – tailored menus prepared by your hostess or private chef
- Fuel – based on your chosen route and cruising speed
- Port & Marina Fees – depending on the destinations you visit
- Water Toys & Extras – optional rentals or special requests
The APA is typically 30–35% of the charter fee, depending on yacht type and size. This amount is transferred before your trip and managed transparently by your captain, who records every expense throughout the charter.
At the end of your journey, you’ll receive a detailed breakdown of all costs.
If not all funds are used, the remaining balance is fully refunded to you.
- Transparent costs: you see where every euro goes
- No hidden fees: pay only for what you actually use
- Real-time tracking: daily updates from your captain
This approach gives you the best of both worlds, the freedom and flexibility of a private yacht, with the confidence of knowing exactly what you’re paying for. Your comfort, satisfaction, and peace of mind are always our top priorities.

Top 5 Sailing Routes in Croatia for First-Timers
Croatia’s coastline stretches over 1,700 km and offers more than a thousand islands to explore, but for first-time sailors, a well-balanced route makes all the difference. Here are five tried-and-true itineraries that blend calm sailing, scenic stops, and a taste of authentic island life.
1. Split to Hvar and Vis; The Classic Dalmatian Loop
Duration: 7 days | Best for: Balanced mix of nightlife, bays, and history
Start in Split or Trogir, sail south to Brač (famous Zlatni Rat beach), continue to Hvar for a lively harbor evening, then push west to Vis — quieter, wilder, and home to the iconic Blue Cave (Modra špilja). Return via Šolta, a peaceful last-night anchorage with a family-run konoba.
💡 Why it’s great: Easy distances, reliable winds, and perfect for first-time Adriatic sailors.
2. Zadar to Kornati; Nature and Tranquility
Duration: 6 - 7 days | Best for: National parks, raw beauty, minimal crowds
Depart from Zadar and set sail toward the Kornati National Park, a maze of uninhabited islands and turquoise coves. Stop at Telašćica Nature Park for dramatic cliffs and a salt lake swim.
⚓ Tip: Moor at a small konoba inside the park, dinner often includes your mooring fee and stories from locals who know the sea by heart.
3. Dubrovnik to Mljet and Korčula; Southern Charm
Duration: 7 days | Best for: History lovers and island hoppers
Sail from Dubrovnik’s ACI Marina and cruise to Šipan, Mljet National Park, and Korčula Town. Mljet’s saltwater lakes are ideal for paddleboarding, while Korčula’s medieval walls and wine bars make a perfect overnight stop.
🍷 Don’t miss: Local wines like Grk and Pošip, paired with seafood right off the boat.
4. Šibenik to Vis via Hvar; Culture and Hidden Bays
Duration: 7 - 8 days | Best for: Guests who like a mix of heritage and solitude
Start in Šibenik, a UNESCO gem with quiet charm. Head to Primošten and Rogoznica, then cross to Hvar and Vis. Along the way, detour into Krka National Park, moor in Skradin, and walk or take a short boat to the waterfalls.
🌊 Local secret: Visit the small island of Drvenik Veli, often skipped by charters but stunningly peaceful.
5. Istrian Coast from Pula; Northern Adventure
Duration: 5–7 days | Best for: Foodies and short crossings
Starting in Pula, sail along Istria’s coast, stop in Rovinj, Vrsar, and Poreč for Venetian architecture, truffle pasta, and boutique marinas. The sailing distances are short, perfect for beginners or families.
🍽️ Don’t miss: A seafood dinner in Rovinj’s old town and olive oil tasting inland.
Every route in Croatia has its rhythm. First-timers will find short hops, safe harbors, and friendly locals everywhere. Once you’ve done one route, you’ll be planning your second, maybe farther south, maybe earlier in the season, because Croatia has a way of calling you back.

On all-inclusive yacht charters, the typical gratuity ranges from 10% to 20% of the total charter price, depending on your satisfaction with the crew’s performance. Tips are usually given at the end of the trip and handed to the captain, who then distributes them fairly among all crew members. You may tip in cash or, on some yachts, via bank transfer.
