Sailing around the Island of Ist
Ist is a small, quiet island in the Zadar archipelago, 21NM sailing NW from Zadar. The island is known as a "Butterfly" island because of its distinctive shape. It covers 9.73 km² and has about 200 permanent residents.
The main village of the island, Ist, is located in a bay with a small marina offering around 60 berths with power, water, and showers.
Ist is a suitable destination for lovers of quiet, close to nature, and a bit secluded vacation, away from crowds and city bustle. Hilly interior, vineyards, and olive groves offer outstanding scenery. The sandy beaches, coves, and reefs provide great spots for sport fishing, diving, and sailing.
On the island, you can enjoy the traditional Mediterranean food; there are local traditional restaurants that serve authentic dishes of freshly caught fish, crabs, mussels, wine, and cheese.
